AMBROSE ACADEMY
CLASSICAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
We believe the goal of education is to form students hearts and minds into the image of Christ
Our Approach
“Education is not a subject and does not deal in subjects, it is instead a transfer of a way of life.”
G.K. Chesterton
Why classical education?
We are convinced Classical Christian education is the most effective way to develop students of wisdom and virtue.
Many influential figures throughout history were classically educated including Galileo, Shakespeare, Martin Luther, Albert Einstein, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and countless others.
Modern education methods used by secular schools and many religious schools emerged in the late 1800s. These methods focus on the transfer of information, teaching students ‘what to know’ with the goal of preparing them for a job.
Classical Christian education has a much broader approach, seeking to cultivate a love for learning, truth, beauty, wisdom and virtue. The intent is to help students learn ‘how to think’ and to prepare them for all of life.
Key differentiators of the classical method include the study of Latin, classic literature, philosophy, theology, worldview, and the timeline of human history from creation to modernity.
"American liberty, growth, and prosperity was the result of a Biblical philosophy of life. Our continued freedom and success is dependent on our educating the youth of America in the principles of Christianity."
Noah Webster
Mission and Beliefs
The mission of Ambrose Academy is to disciple the next Generation of Christians through rigorous, Christ-centered classical education.
We believe God has given parents the ultimate responsibility to train their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4) and to disciple the next generation of Christians (Matt. 28:19-20).
We partner with parents to carry out this calling and to prepare children to represent Christ well in their family, workplace, church, and beyond.
Academic excellence
We are proud to utilize the resources and support offered through Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS), representing more than 400 classical Christian schools across the United States whose graduate test scores and college readiness benchmarks have consistently outperformed all other types of American education.
